Self-Taught Creative started as a series of Instagram story posts called Self-Taught Sundays on my @temidesigns Instagram where I would post tips about learning design and starting a freelance business every Sunday. As my audience grew and became more engaged with my content, I knew that Self-Taught Sundays would outgrow my personal Instagram/branding and would need to become its own entity.
I created STC as an extension of my brand and a place where creatives can come together to find and provide each other with resources and a sense of camaraderie. Being a self-taught graphic designer has always been a point of pride for me, so I created a line of merch as the first product offering of STC to serve as our coming out into the digital community space.
